Family tragedy in Bogotá: Man murdered his wife, his son, a nephew, and committed suicide

A tragedy was recorded in the town of Barrios Unidos, in Bogotá, four people from a family lost their lives, according to the first investigations by the authorities, a man murdered, shot his wife, his son, his nephew, and then killed himself.

According to the Bogota Metropolitan Police, the A 67-year-old man would have shot his relatives several times in the middle of an argument. The neighbors of the sector notified the authorities who went to the place.

Benilda Fuentes Bolaños, 58, managed to leave the residence alive located on Calle 74 with Carrera 55, and from there she was transferred to a medical center where she finally died due to the severity of his injuries.

“The National Police, through a call from the community, came to the 12 de Octubre neighborhood, to a residential complex. A scene of an injured person who is transferred and is given medical assistance in the hospital center of the jurisdiction is observed”, said Colonel Ferney Vásquez Moreno, commander of Citizen Security.

Meanwhile, the other soldiers entered the building to try to mediate the situation, but they heard the detonations of the gun moments before.

“We continue advancing and we hear some shots inside an apartment. Over there the uniformed enter the force by the state of commotion that is generated in the environment. Upon entering they find a scene of three lifeless people, apparently one of them had committed suicide”, added the officer.

The two young victims were identified as Camilo Fuentes Pelayo, 26, and Cristian Gutiérrez Fuentes and the alleged aggressor as Adolfo León Gutiérrez Ríos.

“It is an unfortunate fact and we call for moderation and calm, since apparently this fact is generated by violence within the family”, specified the commander of Citizen Security.
