The former mayor of Tirúa and conventional by reserved seat, Adolfo Millabur, indicated today that the family of Yordan Llempi Machacan -mapuche community member who died last Wednesday in Cañete, in an alleged confrontation with members of the Navy, circumstances that are still being investigated, said that the shot that took his life was received in the courtyard of his house.
The conventional attended the 24-year-old’s funeral and spoke with his father. “What he transmitted to me was that – and what I saw as well – he was shot in the backyard of his house, and the house is 50 or 70 meters from the road where the events took place,” he said.
“The father told me that he heard when he (Yordan Llempi) said: ‘They hit me, they shot me,’ and he went to his son and found him dumped in the backyard of his house,” he added
The exedile from Tirúa said that the Government and the Armed Forces “speak of an ambush (against the uniformed men), and no one ambushes from their home.”
Llempi’s couple, Danitza Herrera, commented last week that “he was at home, he was outside the patio of his house when the soldiers started shooting like crazy and the bullet hit him,” he collects. CHV News.
