Santo Domingo.-The main shopping centers in the country are getting ready to conclude this weekend the day of offers that have been applied throughout this month for Black Friday.
They are being taken advantage of by thousands of customers who are waiting for the opportunity to purchase selected items to advance their Christmas shopping, and toys.
According to Jennifer Troncoso, representative of the National Organization of Commercial Companies (ONEC), sales during this month before Black Friday have remained active, reaching levels similar to those of last year.
“People are taking advantage of deals on appliances, televisions, household items, shoes and mattresses. In addition, many families are bringing forward their Christmas shopping and organizing to renew the appliances in their homes,” Troncoso explained to EL DÍA.
Credits and discounts
One of the factors that have driven these purchases is the ease that banks offer with financing through credit cards, allowing consumers to access discounts and special promotions, the businesswoman highlighted, explaining that this month’s commercial dynamics reflect how Consumers are planning their purchases further in advance, benefiting from a wide range of offers and payment options that seek to strengthen commerce this season.
Among the companies that offer discounts are Jumbo, Carrefour, El Nacional, Casa Cuesta, Pintura Popular, Altice, Innova, La Sirena, Plaza Lama, Tiendas Corripio, Radio Centro hardware stores and small businesses. Such is the case of Arlerdy Batteries, which has a 25% discount offer.

Anton Rodríguez, store director of Plaza Lama highlighted that the offers reach up to 85% discounts in some cases.
He said that since the first of this month, the trade has seen a constant flow of consumers looking to purchase appliances, televisions, toys and other products. He noted that the offers, which began at the beginning of the month, have intensified in recent days.
Take advantage of offers
Another who sees great dynamism in commerce is Nikaury Martínez, marketing manager of Tiendas Corripio, who pointed out that throughout this month customers are taking advantage of the offers and expect an increase in purchases. Among the most sought-after items are televisions, audio items, appliances such as refrigerators and stoves, and air conditioners, he said.
“Televisions are the most sought after, with sizes ranging from 50 to 100 inches. People are looking for high definition technology, video quality and innovative applications. In addition, household items, such as refrigerators and stoves, are in strong demand,” he explained.
He noted that today the store offers payment facilities through Banco Popular and its own direct credit “Escala”, which allows products to be financed in up to 24 installments.
He noted that opening hours have been extended until midnight to ensure more people can take advantage of the deals. “Black Friday promotions will be available throughout the weekend,” he highlighted.

Inspection. “People who want to take advantage of the Black Friday offers can do so without fear, because Pro Consumidor is working to avoid deception in the offers made by many commercial establishments,” said the executive director of the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights, Eddy Alcantara.
The official explained that since before entering November, the entity’s inspectors verify the items in greatest demand for this holiday, such as appliances, furniture and clothing.
