Christian Emilio Gosenthe false Chilean doctor, who operated in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, was arrested this Friday and sent to Palmasola for 60 days. Gosen faces charges of ideological material falsehood and illegal practice of medicine.
However, investigations reveal that this subject is not a newcomer to the world of scams. Javier Pontillo, journalist from Meganoticias in Chile, has tracked Gosen for years and discovered that his history of deception dates back more than two decades.
“He, here, in Chile, said he was a psychiatrist; So he treated a lot of people with depression problems, etc. But, The service he sold was precisely to give them medical leave., this permit to be absent from work, and which in Chile is paid for by the State. So he was harming the State and the clients as well. So that was his way of operating,” explained Pontillo in contact with EL DEBER.
According to the journalist, Gosen had already been investigated in Chile for fraud and illegal practice of medicine. “Here the investigative police were chasing him. They were trying to find his whereabouts, they apparently had him located. But when the report (from T13) comes out, he turns on the alerts, and then the trail is lost,” Pontillo said.

After being discovered in Chile, Gosen fled to Boliviawhere he continued his fraudulent activities posing as a gastroenterologist. Pontillo highlighted that the subject was “very elusive” and knew how to hide in different places in South America.
“This guy has been a fake doctor for at least 20 or 30 years, causing harm to the population, issuing probably wrong diagnoses, or in this case, which I understand was much worse in Bolivia, that is, he sold himself as a gastroenterologist there,” he said.
How was the case revealed in Bolivia?
The Gosen case in Bolivia was revealed thanks to the complaint of the councilor Manuel Saavedra, who received complaints from several people who had been treated by the fake doctor. Saavedra presented the complaint to the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc), which began an investigation that culminated in the capture of Gosen.
During his speech at the hearing, Gosen claimed to have an impeccable track record of more than 20 years.
“All the people I treated until the moment of this complaint were in perfect condition. My job is to do endoscopy and colonoscopy. The way cauterization is done, it is impossible to cause any damage to other organs or cause additional damage. “I have twenty years of practice with an impeccable record as a doctor,” said the man.
