Fajardo says that "don’t swallow the toad" of social forgiveness proposed by Petro

The presidential candidate Sergio Fajardo joined the criticism that different political sectors have made of his opponent Gustavo Petro, for the proposal to grant “social forgiveness”, which has generated rejection among citizensdespite the fact that the candidate himself and the militants of the Historical Pact have come out to explain what it is about.

Through his Twitter account, he noted that, “those who want a change, but are not willing to swallow the toad of granting them ‘social pardon’ To the corrupt, I invite you to join my campaign. We are not going to allow a La Picota Pact in Colombia. Join.”

“The ‘Picota Pact’ is a gift disguised under the name of ‘social forgiveness’ that Petro offers to the corrupt in our country. Colombia is full of thousands of victims of those corrupt people who have no voice, who do not recognize themselves and that they have never been repaired,” Fajardo said, through a video he posted on his social networks.

For the candidate, the proposal “is much more serious than it seems”, and assured that, “from the darkness of the prisons you cannot reach the Colombian Presidency“. In that sense, he called on Petro to give “a clear explanation and to the nation for what he is doing.”

Federico Gutierrez, assured that, “Petro’s problem is that I don’t have a political boss. For her part, the candidate Ingrid Betancourtpointed out that “social forgiveness is a ruse to buy votes from the corrupt, in exchange for impunity. It is what we call “sell your soul to the devil.” How to explain that such a brazen proposaldo not open the eyes of the citizenry and do not trigger a social sanction?”.

Candidate Rodolfo Hernández wrote that, “corruption has gone unpunished for too long for now, On top of that, let’s forgive her.”

While Enrique Gómez went further and asked for Petro’s resignation from his candidacy, “Senator Petro has a moral obligation to the country to renounce his candidacy. This was not a mistake or coincidence, it was a pact with criminalsplanned and with the aim of getting votes in exchange for the pardon of the most brazenly corrupt”.
