This law, in its article 102, prohibits the use of personal computers, cell phones and other electronic devices inside prisons. However, prison authorities have faced enormous challenges in its implementation.
In addition to the sanctions for inmates, the law, in accordance with numeral three of article 123, second paragraph, also establishes “officials, officers or penitentiary agents who allow, by action or omission, the violation of these prohibitions, will be sanctioned in accordance with the parameters established by the Public Service Law”.
