The pilot Facundo Ardusso, former champion of Super TC2000, confessed this Wednesday that he has two well-defined dreams and in accordance with his activities, to be champion of Turismo Carretera, and that his beloved Sportivo Las Parejas, a club of which he is vice president and competes in the Federal A, ascend to the First National.
In this context, despite the fact that motor racing won the arm wrestling match against soccer, because Ardusso was a skilled attacking midfielder who dreamed of one day playing for his beloved Sportivo Las Parejas, he finally took another path and established himself in the world of “irons”. “.
“Flaco” Ardusso, one of the most respected drivers in the environment, was not only a soccer player in Las Parejas but also acts as vice president, redoubling his efforts in the free time that motor racing leaves him.
Ardusso told in an interview with Télam his particular story of combining his two passions, soccer and motor racing.
“I started at the age of 9 in the lower divisions of Sportivo Las Parejas and I went up through the categories until I got to play in the reserve, and then I made the jump to the first division, but it was my debut and I was fired,” he revealed in the talk with Télam.
“My legs were shaking the afternoon I made my debut against Deportivo Las Rosas, to the point that I got cramps from the responsibility,” recalled the current TC200 and TC rider.
Ardusso recalled a special moment in his beginnings in football, when River Plate, the club he is a fan of, went to test players in the neighboring city of Cañada de Gómez in 2005.
“I remember that I passed the test, then I passed another selection and from there they sent me directly to the Monumental. I arrived at the stadium with my dreams in tow and a lot of shyness. I slept three days in the River pension but finally I did not attend the third call, I returned to Las Parejas, I was convinced that my destiny was karting because I dreamed of reaching big motorsports”, explained the pilot.
The driver born 34 years ago in Las Parejas, a city in Santa Fe located 400 kilometers from Buenos Aires, commented that the early days in motorsports were not easy to cope with.
“A friend lent me the kart, I rented an engine, bought gasoline and finally I was able to make my debut on the track in El Trébol, I remember that it went quite well. When I armed myself a little better I was able to win my first race in Montes de Oca and that was the kickoff,” he analyzed.
Ardusso’s passion for Sportivo Las Parejas
At Sportivo Las Parejas, his grandfather was president of the club, then his father succeeded him and later it was the pilot who joined the board of directors at the beginning of 2021, after the strongest phase of the coronavirus pandemic had been overcome.
“When they offered me to participate in the club’s board of directors, I immediately accepted, despite the fact that due to the trials in motorsport I dedicate little time to it. Last year the team was close to fighting for promotion, but it did not happen because we lost in the quarterfinals , although I hope I can go up this year because there is a good squad”, added the pilot, champion of Super TC2000 two years in a row, in 2017 and 2018.
“I have two dreams that would fill me with happiness, the first is that Sportivo Las Parejas ascend to the First National, and then become champion of Turismo Carretera”, admitted Ardusso.
The flagship club of Las Parejas, the city where ex-soccer player and coach Jorge Valdano, one of the figures of the selected World Champion in Mexico ’86, was born, turned 100 on March 18 and, in addition to soccer, has other activities such as basketball , swimming, volleyball, roller hockey, artistic gymnastics and paddle tennis.
“The club is my cable to the ground, my second home, the place that shaped me as a person, that instilled values and teachings in me,” Ardusso finally stressed in the talk with Télam.
The driver is currently part of the Puma Energy Honda Racing Team of TC2000, and also drives a Chevrolet of the LRD team of Turismo Carretera., and until a while ago he drove a car of Class 3 of Turismo Nacional.
