UNAM issues anti-plaglio program
On January 6, the UNAM reported that all its faculties and schools will reform their regulations to include as a mandatory requirement the review of thesis with specialized plagiarism detection software.
This action must be carried out before approving the synod (group of professors) that will preside over the professional examination of the student who presents the thesis to graduate.
The Maximum House of Studies announced the measure this Friday, after the case of Yasmín Esquivel, the minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation accused of committing alleged plagiarism in her undergraduate thesis.
UNAM is currently analyzing the coincidences between the work of the minister, with which she graduated in Law in 1987, and that of another student at the Faculty of Law, Édgar Báez, who graduated in 1986.
