Although the management of the Faculty of Architecture of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) assured that they delivered the responses to the students’ request, the representation of the student assembly indicated that “at no time did they deliver it because they refused to engage in a dialogue on equal terms.”
Since last Monday it had been agreed that the authorities would hand over the facilities to the students, but the agreement was not reached, since the director of the campus, Mónica Cejudo, did not attend the handover.
Derived from the differences between authorities and students, on Monday night the management only published online that they had ready the responses to the request document and issued a statement informing that it had been delivered.
“There was no formal delivery”
However, the architecture students pointed out that there was no formal delivery, so the strike in this faculty continues and there is no date for dialogue tables because, according to the students, there has been no commitment from their director.
The Faculty of Political and Social Sciences also delivered a broad request list to the management, in which it prepared a list of 13 demands, each with more than five subtopics, ranging from actions regarding security, public access to regulations on the faculty’s website, to issues of changes in study plans, modifications in degree processes, protocols in cases of disappearance and rights to sexual health.
