The fuel shortage is taken advantage of by some people who sell thinned gasoline for up to Bs 10 per liter, in the town of Huntsman. This situation was exposed in an audiovisual work carried out by the Diario Zona Norte, which reports on the reality of the Integrated North region.

Bolivia is experiencing a fuel shortage which has worsened due to the more than 20 points of blockades maintained by followers of former president Evo Morales. The president is accused of statutory rape and human trafficking. Faced with these complaints, his supporters determined to carry out this extreme measure until the charges are dropped.

This worsened the problems in fuel distribution throughout the country, generating long lines at different service stations. In fact, in Montero, on Monday, seven pumps had no product to sell.

In this scenario, a lucrative business arises: the thinning sale of gasoline. Cameras from the Zona Norte newspaper exposed these people who sell this product for Bs 10 per liter, the people who, out of desperation at not finding fuel, end up paying this price.

Another fact that draws attention is the color of the gasoline, which is reddish. The sale is made in the open and the sellers manually transfer the fuel from a drum. Others sell one and two liter bottles.

For its part, the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH), through a statement posted on its social networks, reported that “in control and interdiction operations, personnel from this state entity in Santa Cruz, in coordination with the Bolivian Police, intervened in points of sale. illegal fuel in Montero.

In addition, the entity’s report indicates that Special Gasoline that was intended to be sold without authorization was seized.

Meanwhile, the problem of fuel supply persists in the country. From different regions of the country there are reports of endless queues of vehicles in search of gasoline and diesel.

While the president of the state-owned Yacimientos Petrolófilos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), Armin Dorgathen, admitted that there are logistical delays that delay the distribution of fuel in different regions of the country and generate a feeling of scarcity.

“Evidently there are logistical delays that can cause a feeling that the fuel is not arriving. TWe had days when the fuel did not arrivewhich obviously now we have to replenish those volumes so that the trucks that are in our refineries can have a lighter fuel, that is, gasoline,” the executive explained.
