Not everything was happiness this Sunday in the province of Cordova after the Argentine National Team was crowned champion of Qatar 2022. In the city of Salsipuedes, a man he murdered his ex-partner when the woman returned from celebrating the triumph with her family.
The femicide occurred around 2 in the morning when the victim -identified as Sofia Sosa23 years old- was returning home with her 4-year-old son and her boyfriend, with whom she had gone to the center of the town to celebrate the title obtained.
A few meters from the entrance of the house, José Luis Gómez (29) was waiting hidden. In front of his son and his partner, the attacker stabbed Sosa minutes after they arrived at the home.
In the violent attack, the man also injured his ex’s current partner, who quickly ran out to ask for help.
“We were in the center of Río Ceballos and she was celebrating. I turned. Then a cousin brought her home, ”her aunt, who was one of the last to see her, told the local outlet El Doce.
And he added: “I don’t know why Justice doesn’t do anything. What are you waiting for? Another girl, crazy! I’m fed up with this Argentine Justice, please change it, I ask you.”
As it turned out, Sosa had already denounced the attackerwith whom he had a seven-month relationship, alleging that he harassed her and threatened to kill her.
The family assured that he had a problematic drug use and that the young woman ended the relationship due to her addictions and the violence he exerted on her: “He bothered her a lot, he wanted to hit her and he had told her that he was going to kill her they said.
The last complaint made was on December 11 when they gave him an anti-panic button.
In this sense, they indicated that the victim was able to activate it when she saw Gómez at her home. However, the attack was so fast that the young woman ended up dying from her injuries.
After the fact, the femicide fled and the local police deployed an operation to find and arrest him.
The arrest happened hours later, on the morning of this Monday. A police officer identified the suspect in a field in the Villa Las Selvas neighborhood, Salsipuedes, and arrested him in the back of a house.
The authorities specified that the 29-year-old man tried to take his own life, trying to hang himself with a cable.
