The curtain has just come down on the XIII International Theater Festival, Fitcruz, which with an impeccable staging by APAC, took place in the capital city of Santa Cruz and in some provinces of the department. For ten days, the public that enjoys the tables filled up to 70% of the rooms where 86 works by prominent national and international casts were presented. After four years without being held for various reasons, the organizers of the Fitcruz highlighted the massive attendance that, in some cases, turned the box office upside down. There was no empty room. With the best results, the premise of a “Festival for all” was undeniably achieved.
During the parade of workers for May 1 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, the Minister of Government and some of his companions were seen waving their flags and applauding nervously from the platform where they were in the Plaza 24 de Septiembre. It was when the protests reached his ears, loudly, against the Public Manager that will take over the administration of more than $23,000 million of the contributions of retirees throughout the country. Protesters from different sectors believe that the State will mismanage these resources. They aspire to a decent retirement. That is why they are not willing to let their guard down. The Government does not take note of some citizen demands that it cannot appease. They do not understand or do not want to understand that they are driven by the mistrust generated by their actions in times of empty coffers.
