The Political Board of the broad front (FA) issued a statement on Monday referring to the Astesian case as “hethe most important corruption plot” of the country “since the democratic recovery” and requires the government to “collaborate” with Justice.
The statement comes hours after they were released audios of the prosecutor Gabriela Fossati in which it refers to the difficulties he faced in researching everything related to the former head of presidential custodians, Alejandro Astesiano.
Astesiano Case: the government must collaborate!
We demand that the government fulfill its responsibilities and cooperate with the investigation.
“All the people who run the organizations that must investigate try to cover up the case”

“The expressions of the prosecutor call into question the collaboration to which the Executive Branch is obliged as an assistant to the Prosecutor’s Office. As we have stated since day one, we reaffirm, once again, our demand that the Government comply with its institutional responsibilities and collaborate with the investigation”indicates the document approved at the meeting.
In addition, it points out that up to now “only police commanders have been removed”, not thus established “political responsibilities”.
And it adds that the case “involves persecution of senators of the Republic, monitoring of high school students, influence peddling, use of security devices for private purposes, falsification of documentation for the granting of passports.”
For the FA Astesiano he was a “member of a criminal association that operated from the Executive Tower”, although “it remains to elucidate its scope”.
