FA and Cabildo voted together a motion that criticizes Heber’s management

After questioning the Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heberthe Chamber of Deputies approved a motion of the Open Cabildo, with the votes of the Broad Front, criticizing portfolio management.

The text says that “The current management of the Ministry of the Interior has not been managing to fulfill the fundamental commitments on security that the Government Coalition presented to the citizens in its document “Commitment to the Country”.

“After 24 hours of interpellation, the Chamber of Deputies did not support Minister Heber.“, tweeted the Frente Amplio senator Alejandro Sánchez in a publication where he attached the video that shows the editor secretary, Fernando Ripoll, reading the approved motion.

“AND declared the same thing that we have been denouncing for a long time: “That the current management of the Ministry of the Interior has not been managing to fulfill the fundamental commitments regarding…”, added the senator.

The support of the FA

The Broad Front, which presented his own motion but of no confidence in the minister, vote some of the points of the lobbying text.

He did it twice, after the first, where there was confusion regarding the paragraphs, a reconsideration of the matter was requested. The camera went to an intermediate room, indicated on his Twitter account, the Colorado deputy Ope Pasquet.

The deputy also reported that the Colorado Party, the National Party and the Independent Party voted “against the declaration” and supported “the minister’s actions.”

The CA text expressed “concern about the high number of violent crimes, which continues to a growing trend for more than a decadecaused by wrong policies carried out by successive previous administrations, and that it also shows qualitative signs of aggravation by the criminal modalities, to which it should be added the dizzying growth and danger of criminal organizations linked to drug trafficking.

For the Cabildo, “the public security policies implemented in the previous administrations showed dismal results, with unprecedented growth in crime rates relative to record investment of resourcesgenerating a culture of impunity and people’s disbelief in such policies”.

The lobbying deputies recognized in any case “the effort of the National Police in combating certain crimes that have decreased compared to the previous administration.” “Nevertheless”keep going, “They continue to show unacceptable levels.”

But in addition to his criticism of the Frente Amplio governments, the Cabildo stated that “The current management of the Ministry of the Interior has not been managing to fulfill the fundamental commitments in matters of security that the Government Coalition presented to the citizens in its document “Commitment to the Country”, especially regarding the recovery of the neighborhood police stations”.

From “the current management…” to “Commitment to the Country”, the FA voted together with the Cabildo; that is, he did not support “what referred to the recovery of the neighborhood police stations”

For the lobbying deputies, “as in the management of the previous government, the personal situation of police officers continues to be ineffectively addressedand the moral aspects and esprit de corps as a cohesive element of a structure of the characteristics of the police institution”.

The other point that the front supporters supported is the last paragraph of the lobbying text: “That the implementation of substantial changes in the prison system, in pursuit of the paradigm of the rehabilitation of persons deprived of liberty in accordance with the provisions of article 26 of the Constitution”.
