Ezequiel Zamora park reopened in Caracas

«Today, we show all the people of Caracas, and the entire town, the recovery of this Ezequiel Zamora park, which is historic. In addition, it is the first urban park in our country rehabilitated thanks to the work of the Plan Caracas Patriota Bella y Segura” announced this Saturday the mayor of Caracas, A/J Carmen Meléndez, from the aforementioned park.

In this sense, the president of the Heritage Foundation (Fundapatrimonio), Vice Admiral María Elisa Domínguez, reported that the infrastructure was conditioned and the landscaping was renovated, with an investment of more than 8 million bolívares. “Walls, walls were rehabilitated, the painting was remodeled, works of art were restored, works were replaced, two new ones were brought, such as that of our cacique Carapaica and our blessed José Gregorio Hernández,” she detailed.

Domínguez highlighted the participation of the Cariña indigenous people in the activity, who attended with a performance or ritual.

He stressed that the Ezequiel Zamora Park reaches 146 years of existence after being conceived under the government of General Antonio Guzmán Blanco, “after reviewing the first aqueduct in Caracas one afternoon, where he decided to build a recreation center for the people of Caracas” .

The head of the Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, and the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, among other authorities, were also present at the activity.

For his part, Minister Villegas said that this space is incorporated into spaces available for the healthy recreation of Caracas.
