Santo Domingo.– Currently bad words are rewarded and called freedom of the press, said the pastor Ezequiel Molina, leader of the evangelical rally The Battle of Faith.
Molina criticized freedom of the press, corruption, and the loss of values in Dominican society, during the 61st edition of the event, held on January 1 at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium.
“When a country denigrates the figure of its nation, What can we expect from others? “In the country, not even the presidential figure is respected anymore.”he expressed, questioning the use of offensive language and the spread of lies by some communicators.
In his sermon titled «Broken cisterns», The evangelical leader explained that the concept symbolizes the failure of systems based on deception, falsehood and lies.
He also regretted that the lack of moral and spiritual values is affecting societies around the world, and not just the Dominican Republic.
Criticism of religious leaders
Molina denounced the poor quality of spiritual leaders, pointing out that many seek personal benefits in the name of God.
“What we are seeing scares me: theologians interpreting the Bible at their convenience, killing people’s faith.”
Likewise, he blamed pastors and priests for the spiritual decadence he observes in society, and affirmed that corruption has damaged trust in institutions.
“People believe that all officials are thieves because anti-corruption measures have been ineffective. To stop corruption, you respond with more corruption.”
Violence and loss of family values
The pastor also addressed issues such as violence and crime, pointing out that these problems are a consequence of a society that has abandoned family values.
“When moral values are in danger, we have to risk our lives and defend them,” said Molina.
Additionally, he held parents responsible for delegating parenting to the neighborhood, television, and mobile devices.
“Nowadays, parents go out in the morning and return at night, while their children are raised by others.”
A critique of modern society
Ezequiel Molina warned that society seems to be regressing, resuming practices that had already been overcome.
According to the pastor, the same “aberrant sins” that led to the destruction ofe Sodom and Gomorrah are now seen as “news”.
He also criticized the popularity of degrading content on social media, stating that ““The lower and more perverse the content is, the more likes and views it gets.”
Finally, Molina called for collective reflection, highlighting that the world has left God aside and, with it, moral values.
“The people who separate themselves from God also separate themselves from values. How do you expect someone to change overnight, to stop stealing or committing abuse?”
Act with challenges
When pronouncing a few words of gratitude, Pastor Ezequiel Molina Jr. thanked the Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games headed by José P. Monegro, the artistic producer, Saymon Díaz, as well as the church councils that annually motivate their parishioners to join the activity.
