The director of the National Meteorological Office (ONAMET), Gloria Ceballo, reported that the eye of the hurricane Fiona It will approach the country at 2:00 AM this Monday between about 10 and 30 kilometers per hour.
In a press conference issued by the entity, in conjunction with the Emergency Operations Center (COE), and accompanied by President Luis Abinader, he indicated that Fiona’s arrival will affect the East end in the first instance.
He also pointed out that the hurricane will leave the country in the middle of 2:00 p.m. this Monday. However, the rains will continue, so he urges the population to remain calm and control.
