"Extraordinary support": Machado thanks the president of Panama for guarding the minutes of the opposition victory in Venezuela

Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado expressed his gratitude to the president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, for the “extraordinary support” of his country, especially highlighting the safeguarding of the minutes that according to the opposition confirm the victory of Edmundo González Urrutia in the 2024 presidential elections.

“Thanks to all of Panama. The support has been extraordinary for all Venezuelans. Starting because our records are protected in Panama,” said Machado in Oslo during a meeting with Mulino, according to a statement from the Panamanian presidency.

The winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize described the gesture as a “demonstration of deep trust” between both nations and reiterated that Mulino has been one of her first and most important supporters.

“And now, when the entire world is supporting us, imagine what this means. We are very grateful to all the people of Panama and of course to President Mulino,” he added.

At the meeting, Machado received from the hands of the Panamanian president and the first lady the dress that she would wear at the Nobel ceremony, to which she could not arrive in time after leaving Venezuela with the support of the United States.
