Former deputy Juan Carlos Ozorio will spend the night at the Senad base. He is being held for alleged links to a drug trafficking and money laundering scheme.
In the afternoon of this Wednesday, former deputy Juan Carlos Ozorio appeared before the Specialized Drug Trafficking Unit of the Prosecutor’s Office, since an arrest warrant was pending against him due to his alleged links with drug trafficking and money laundering groups.
The presentation was before the prosecutors Deny Yoon Park, Lorena Ledesma, Fabiana Molas and Isaac Ferreira, who told the former parliamentarian that he is suspected of links with people charged in the framework of the “A Ultranza PY” operation.
In this regard, the lawyer Álvaro Arias, legal representative of former deputy Ozorio, pointed out that his client cannot give an investigative statement, because all the requirements for it are not met.
“How are you going to testify if they don’t give you any chance to defend yourself,” said lawyer Arias.
Ozorio’s legal representative indicated that his client will again be summoned by the Prosecutor’s Office.
Ozorio was forced to resign from his seat in the Chamber of Deputies, after the publication of audios in which he is allegedly heard talking to drug traffickers. Likewise, he left his position as president of the San Cristóbal Cooperative.
