“For Singing and For the People” 2nd Edition of the Fraile Muerto Festival
An extensive lineup of local groups and soloists, as well as some special guests, will be performing this Saturday, October 25, at Por el Canto and Por el Pueblo.
This will be the 2nd Edition of the Folklore Festival of the city of Río Branco which, due to rain announcements, will be held in the rooms of the Unión Club.
“We are coming up with this 2nd Edition that we have been working on for quite some time. Now we are in the last days, in the final details, to present the best possible festival for the people” express Augusto Caetano.
“It will take place tomorrow, Saturday, October 25 at Club Uruguay” confirmed. “At first the idea was to do it at the historic AFE station, but due to threats of rain we decided to do it directly at Club Unión at 7 p.m. on Saturday” argument.
“We didn’t want to be changing the location at the last minute taking into account the bad weather forecast for that day” he pointed out.
“A lot of artists from here in town and from neighboring areas will perform at the festival. Among others, there will be Paula Sosa, Lucho López, Santiago González, Carlos Miguez, Arturo Acosta, Patricia Robaina, Dúo Airedé, Puñadito de Arena, Horacio Fábrica and his two daughters, the Duo Sin Apronte, Sergio Menchaca and his Group, Trashumantes and we end with Guarumbá” the organizer detailed.
“The idea is to give a space to the artists from around here, anyone who wants to join and contribute will be welcome. Entry is at the discretion of the attendees” stood out.
“The 1st Edition left us very happy with the reception the festival had. Many people told us that it had connected them with what was formerly the Festival for Singing and for the Room” he commented. “Now we are also experiencing a nice climate here, many people are already aware. Let’s hope that everything goes well, that people like it and are happy” he stated.
Caetano extended the invitation to attend to the entire department of Cerro Largo this Saturday, October 25, in the afternoon. “It’s going to be very nice, everyone will be welcome.”
Later he thanked the sponsors and the Municipal Government for their support, which made it possible to carry out this 2nd festival. “We asked some companies for collaboration and we have had other aid, the Municipality has also supported us. We believe that the union that exists in the town with constant support for all these types of initiatives is very positive. Here one needs and they always give a hand” projection.
“We are going to have a very good canteen service there in the Club Uruguay itself. Drinks and food are going to be sold. Everyone is invited, I hope the weather is a bit nice and this 2nd Edition of the Festival For Song and For the People will be a success.” Augusto Caetano finished saying.
