Extension of Mixed Companies Boquerón SA and Petroperijá SA approved until 2041

The National Assembly (AN) authorized the request for extension of the Mixed Companies Boquerón SA and Petroperijá SA for the period 2026-2041, in compliance with the provisions of articles 150 and 187 paragraph 9 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and in accordance with article 34 paragraph 1 of the Organic Law of Hydrocarbons.

The report was presented by Congressman Orlando Camacho, who stressed the importance of this decision for national energy development. He recalled that the measure occurs in a context of blockade and unilateral coercive measures illegally imposed against the country. However, he highlighted that oil and gas production has shown a notable recovery, reflecting the efforts of Venezuelan workers.

“The extension of the joint ventures will allow the development of significant volumes of hydrocarbon production. The Petroperijá company aims to extract 68 million net barrels of crude oil, and more than 28 billion cubic feet of associated gas, with an investment in the country of more than 292 million dollars. Likewise, the Boquerón SA company plans to achieve a production of 23 million barrels of crude oil, and 269 billion of associated gas, with an investment that exceeds 324 million dollars,” Camacho said.

The parliamentarian highlighted that these investments reflect the confidence of foreign investors in Venezuela.

“The willingness of international companies to continue trusting and depositing their income and capital in Venezuela also generates great confidence in the workers, the people who take to the streets every day, because this investment makes it possible to improve the quality of life of ordinary citizens. Second, it is supporting the recovery, growth and economic prosperity program directed and executed by the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, which drives the 13 engines of the economy,” he emphasized.

Finally, the parliamentarian reported that the Parliament’s Permanent Commission on Energy and Petroleum held two work meetings to expand and debate the legal documents, production profiles, investment and expense budgets, as well as the business plan and the industrial safety, occupational hygiene and environment plan.
