Exports of cocoa and derivatives reach US$1,206.5 MM

During the period from January 2020 to August 2024, the exports of cocoa and derivatives amounted to 1,206.5 million dollars, registering an average annual growth of 18.6%.

A press release from the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) highlights the amount and growth of exports.

Stands out among the most exported he cocoa grain, butter, fats, oils, chocolate, cocoa powder, among other food preparations.

Between January and August 2024, the main recipient countries of the products were: USAwith US$116.0 million; NetherlandsUS$52.5 million; Belgium, with US$34.8 million; Indonesia, US$33.6 million; Spain, US$25.8 million, and Mexico US$25.1 million. To this it adds another 39 markets globally.

Pro Dominican shared the statistics in a note about his participation in the Northwest Chocolate Festival 2024, held in Seattle, Washington.

In addition to the outstanding Dominican participation, the festival had the presence of chocolate companies from other Caribbean countries, such as Jamaica, Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago, reaffirming the regional leadership in the production of cocoa and chocolates artisanal, indicated the institution.

He highlighted that spaces like the Northwest Chocolate Festival They allow the Dominican Republic to be positioned as a benchmark in value-added and premium quality products in the competitive world of chocolate.
