Officials assigned to the Drug Investigation Directorate of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps managed to seize 284 packages containing more than 300 kilograms of narcotic substances, in the state of Bolívar.
According to the report, the incident took place when the investigators were carrying out field investigations on the Puerto Páez-Caicara highway, at which time they spotted several armed individuals, who, upon noticing the police presence, fired several shots, subsequently fleeing towards a wooded area.
It should be noted that said material was in a rudimentary structure, which presented recent earthworks.
However, the commission, by removing the waterproof tarps, managed to find 86 cocaine wrappers weighing 96,265 kilos, as well as 198 marijuana wrappers weighing 204 kilos.
Likewise, members of the Cicpc Anti-Drug Division managed to seize 10 alleged rudimentary mine-type explosive devices, four directional types, three orange cylindrical types, and 32 detonators.
These actions are part of the strategic lines of the Great Peace Quadrants Mission in the fight against illicit drug trafficking, as indicated by the Minister of Interior Relations, Captain Diosdado Cabello.
The procedure was left at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding investigations.
