The fire after the explosion that occurred in the afternoon of this Wednesday, November 19 in a Petrocedeño distillation unit of the José Antonio Anzoátegui Petrochemical Complex, was controlled.
The event generated alarm in nearby towns, that 14 days ago were affected by toxic gases produced by the burning of sulfur in these facilities, located on the Barcelona-Píritu section of Trunk 9.
The fire after the explosion in a Petrocedeño distillation unit was controlled by a multidisciplinary team, made up of organizations from the oil industry, Civil Protection, state and PDVSA firefighters, as well as the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
The emergency protocol and facilities were also activated, managing to evacuate workers without incident.
Residents of El Pilar and Caigua, a rural area of the Bolívar municipality, notified the authorities of the loud noise they heard after 2 in the afternoon, without reporting any damage to people.
