Explosion in Sutatausa: they find 10 bodies and victims rise to 21

On the morning of this Thursday, March 16, the authorities announced that they were found inside the Sutatausa mines another ten lifeless bodies after the serious explosion last Tuesday night. With this new report, a balance of 21 victims left by the tragedy.

According to the authorities’ report, with these new data people would have been found in their entirety that were within the six affected mines.

They also said that they are beginning the work of extracting the bodies, which could take all day considering the serious conditions in which the mines were left after the explosion.

For his part, Álvaro Farfán, captain of the Cundinamarca Fire Department, pointed out that all the authorities worked with all their abilities to save the people who remained inside the mines, however, the conditions were very difficult and it was not possible to achieve the goal.

President Gustavo Petro He also addressed the issue on his Twitter account and said that, “unfortunately, 21 people lost their lives in this tragic accident in Sutatausa“.
