A gasoline pipeline in the state of Yaracuy registered an explosion early Monday morning due to an illegal intake to extract fuel. At least one person died and several were injured.
At least one person died and several were injured after the explosion was recorded, this Monday, February 6, in an illegal intake of gasoline in a Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) polyduct that is in the Campo Nuevo sector of the Sucre municipality in Yaracuy.
According to the newspaper Yaracuy up to datePDVSA commissions and various security organizations arrived at the scene to control the fire and attend to the wounded.
A similar situation occurred at the end of September 2022when at the height of the El Guayabo sector of the Veroes municipality an explosion was recorded in a sector of the polyduct that left at least one person dead.
On that occasion it was learned that two adolescents aged 15 and 11 were injured. The oldest of them suffered burns in 90% of his body and was transferred to the Antonio María Pineda de Barquisimeto hospital. The second only suffered polytrauma.
The situation in the fuel pipeline in Yaracuy is registered when in several states of the interior they register a strong shortage of gasoline.
This, coupled with a reported failure in a reformer at the Cardón refinery on January 25a key unit for producing gasoline, means that the unit will be out of service for about 25 days, four workers at the facility owned by state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) said on Tuesday.
In this sense, the state oil company and the National Oil Refining and Distribution Company of Iran (Niordc) will begin a 100-day work to renovate the Paraguaná Refining Complex, which includes the Cardón and Amuay refineries and thus recover the capacity to produce gasoline, as indicated euronews.
