Two engineers who are experts in project preparation and execution and an expert lawyer in public tenders have been hired to strengthen the inspection and control work carried out by some councilors of the Provincial Municipality of Trujillo (MPT) to the mayor’s management Mario Reyna Rodríguez.

The request had been made several months ago by the councilor Jorge Vasquez Tiradobut completing it took longer than estimated.
According to the aforementioned councilor, it was the officials of the Logistics area who delayed in expediting the processes for the respective hirings.

However, Vásquez assured that he will take advantage of all the time left this year to begin supervising all the works that are in progress.
He added that each report prepared will be sent to the Comptroller General of the Republic.
When asked if other councilors will work with these experts, Jorge Vásquez said he does not know, since the request from the professionals was made at his personal expense.

However, Correo spoke about the issue with the councilor Luis González Rossell and he revealed to us that, along with other of his colleagues, he will request that other experts be hired, since he has very specific issues to oversee.
“I want to see the issue of contracts. How they have been done, we will verify that they have been well done and then we will go out into the field to see the works. “I have been talking to people who understand the matter and we are going to do it with the right professionals.”he noted.

At this point it is important to specify that the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) transferred a budget of S/ 1,233,238 to the Council of the Trujillo commune. However, just days before the end of 2024, it has only spent S/ 105,265. Its progress is only 8.9%.
It is expected that with these contracts these resources will be invested appropriately.
