Experts on Syria praise Venezuela's electoral system

Representatives from Syria, Jordan and Palestine praised the country’s electoral system during a discussion held at the Venezuelan Embassy in Damascus.

“The Venezuelan electoral system, one of the safest and most reliable in the world” was the name of the conversation, where the sovereignty of Venezuela was also discussed and the attempted coup d’état sponsored by the United States Government (US) was rejected, the entity said through its account on the social network Instagram.

Participants said Venezuela’s electoral system is one of the safest and most reliable in the world, condemning US attempts to destabilize the country by “using the opposition to delegitimize the election results, spread chaos in the South American nation and plot a coup d’état.”

Among those attending the event in Syria was a Jordanian election observer, Ibrahim Allosh, who said that “doubting the election results is nothing new, as they doubted the election results in 2013 and also questioned the results of the 2018 presidential election.”

“Now they doubt the current elections and in the same way, as the previous conspiracies failed, the current one will fail, and this is thanks to the Venezuelan people and the ability of the Socialist Party to mobilize the Venezuelan people to confront the plots of Zionist imperialism against Venezuela,” he said.

For his part, the Syrian observer who was in the 2018 presidential elections, Tarek Al-Ahmad, commented that “Venezuela as a State has accumulated sufficient fighting experience to confront these color revolutions and this bang against electoral legitimacy.”

“I am one of the observers who witnessed one of the presidential elections and I can testify that the Venezuelan electoral mechanism is one of the best in the world and enjoys a high level of transparency and credibility among the Venezuelan people and international observers,” he emphasized.
