The wear and tear of the community social fabric forces us to review the policy of national states and international cooperation, as well as the role of civil society, institutions and organizations in this phenomenon of erosion, academics agreed during the Permanent Seminar on Social Sciences 2023, Reflections of the Contemporary World: Reconstruction of the Social Fabric and the Culture of Peace, at UNAM.
The coordinator of the Academic Council of the Social Sciences Area, Leticia Cano Soriano, argued that in the social reality, such as that of Mexico, the community social fabric has been damaged, its rupture is experienced, for which it is essential to repair it, rebuild it and harmonize it with individual and collective well-being.

During her speech, the director of the Faculty of Psychology, María Elena Medina-Mora Icaza, considered that mental illness is not limited to serious disorders.
He said that during the pandemic there is an excess mortality (43 percent more than expected in 2020 and 47 percent in 2021); Mental illnesses and suicide, which began with 9.64 percent in 2020, rose to 13.42 in 2021. Among them are the sequelae of the so-called prolonged covid, related to chronic illnesses –such as respiratory problems– and in the case of mental illnesses, it includes losses cognitive, explained the expert.
Dr. Medina-Mora recalled that eight out of 10 people who died from the health emergency had an economic disadvantage and lack of services, in addition to less schooling.
