Asphalt layer for Camino Vecinal, the work will be executed before the end of the year

Although it is a project that began to be addressed later, specifically when Section 3 of the Perimeter Ring was completed, the decision to channel all the heavy traffic through Ejido made the mayor’s office decide to pave the 2,100 meters of the Neighborhood Road with asphalt.

If the weather conditions are favorable, that is, there is no excess rain in the coming days, the work will be carried out before the end of the year.

“It is a project that we had planned for a long time. With the circulation of trucks it was for later but since we made the decision to see the state of the situation on Ejido Street where the folder that was completely damaged was removed, we only have 2 blocks left towards Mata and one towards Avenida Brasil that are going to be done “This week, and seeing that the concrete has a useful life of a few more, we decided to divert heavy traffic there until Section 3 of the Ring is ready.” commented the Mayor of Cerro Largo during the live interview of THE PROFESSIONAL Radio this Monday, November 18.

“From there, instead of making a repair in Camino Vecinal, we turned to a project that we already had financed. Specifically, we decided to make the entire length of Leandro Gómez an asphalt surface, in some sections even with a curb and central flower bed, from the road to Centurión to what we know today as Camino Vecinal. We are talking about both: Arenal and Vecinal. A junction will be made with a roundabout. In total there are 2 kilometers and 100 meters” confirmed José Yurramendi.

“There will be 2,100 meters of asphalt, with a significant width” advancement. “What was already planned would be the final closure of an entire area that has undergone an important change. Added to the Monseñor Roberto Cáceres Boulevard and other interventions, it will result in quality work.” he stated.

“The idea is to do it before the end of the year” said.

VERY ADVANCED NEW BOULEVARD

In mid-December the Avenida Monseñor Cáceres project will be inaugurated. “It will be the culmination of the inauguration of works in that entire area. “It’s going to look very good, it’s going to decongest traffic, it’s going to enhance the properties, a different urbanization with very good quality of access to that entire area.” the Mayor remarked.

“A very good job was done in Barrio Dársena with paving, curbs and lighting. “The little square in the triangle was made new” he remembered.

“All this will be crowned with this Boulevard that is already bearing fruit but that will undoubtedly generate a very interesting neighborhood interconnection. From the Fountain of 200 Years to the Neighborhood Road you can travel directly” said José Yurramendi.

All these works will be accompanied by “a battery of security elements” which includes signs, speed bumps and a traffic light at the intersection of Las Tropas and Monseñor Cáceres.

“It is all double track from Mata except for a section that is in Jazmines before reaching Las Tropas. There it gets narrow and the idea was to generate a return to the right – through what is now Villademoros and on the way back through Monseñor Roberto Cáceres – but there may be a possibility of generating a return earlier in that triangle so that that block that has a commercial life It is important to have circulation and for the neighbor who is heading towards the north not to have to go to Liceo 5 to return.” he explained. “The idea is to generate a return in that little square, in that triangle, so that circulation improves” added the Mayor of Cerro Largo.
