The university campus is one of the objectives in the CUCEL process
The current Director of the University House is fulfilling the goals set when he took office: a headquarters with its doors open to the community and, above all, to the students of the entire department.
Among other things, it was proposed to make known the educational proposal of CUCEL itself and the region in each town and population center in the interior of Cerro Largo.
“We are within the expected trajectory, we are growing, we need more budget, that is a reality” expressed the Mr. Mauricio De Souza.
“We are with the possible construction of this university campus, of the university headquarters. In that sense, we have always had the support of the Municipality, both from the previous administration and the current one” stood out.
“We believe that we have to walk like this there, continue strengthening the proposal with new careers. There is the Technologist in Administration and Accounting that we have already joined Treinta y Tres” remarked the Director of CUCEL.
VARIOUS CAREERS IN THE SIGHT
“My great goal, as far as possible, is for students from Cerro Largo to be able to take the Meat Technologist, which is taught in Tacuarembó and only has in-person classes on Saturdays.” reported.
This would make it possible for the degree to be done remotely, later creating the conditions so that students can travel once to the neighboring department.
In this sense, a survey will be carried out regarding the number of people interested in being part of this proposal with a present and a great future in a livestock department par excellence, which also has an internationally recognized Meal Plant such as Minerva (PUL).
Other possibilities are the Wood Technologist which is taught from the Rivera University Headquarters and also Forest Engineering in Tacuarembó which prepares experts in a type of production that is rapidly growing in this region of the country.
“If we have a budgetary reality that is not auspicious, we have to find a way to generate mobility so that our young people can study. Not stay still, but explore possibilities for this to happen” De Souza said in an interview with THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.
“We are convinced that we must continue to insist in the right direction, to have new possibilities, because ultimately this contributes to the development of the department and the region. We are also giving greater possibilities and options to the young people of Cerro Largo” stressed the Director of the House of the University of Cerro Largo.
THE INTERIOR IS FUNDAMENTAL
Starting from the concept that CUCEL is not just about Melo but about the entire department, the Director has led delegations that went out to each location to publicize the races.
Proof of this decentralization put into practice is the integration of the Advisory Council. “There we have a professional graduated from Río Branco and a student who resides in Fraile Muerto” stood out. “Yes, it is the Cerro Largo House, we necessarily have to also integrate the interior and let them know inside that there is a University House here where they can go to consult any type of information, even if they are not going to take our degree” said Mr. Mauricio De Souza.
