This Friday the Expanded Working Group of the Sao Paulo Forum, in Caracas, with the aim of continuing to consolidate the strategic plan that seeks to move forward together to concretize the sovereignty of our America, emphasized Adán Chávez, Vice President of International Affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, when opening the activity (PSUV).
In the Work tables of the Sao Paulo Forum, installed at the headquarters of the International University of Communications, located in Caracas, representatives of left-wing parties from countries on five continents participate.
In the words that opened the event, Adán Chávez recalled the call of Commander Hugo Chávez who always said: fight, battle and victory. “That’s what drives us,” he said.
Thank you for once again choosing Venezuela, Caracas, for a meeting like this, the Sao Paulo Forum. Here are the samples of the struggles and achievements », he emphasized.
He commented that “in the last five years the Sao Paulo Forum has shown how to work on a strategic plan, to advance together on that path that seeks to concretize sovereignty in our America.”
In this sense, he pointed out that “here we continue to strengthen ties of friendship and joint work. This meeting shows part of these advances.
The Vice President of International Affairs of the PSUV stressed that “there are political advances that are somehow the product of the Sao Paolo Forum and the enemy knows it, that is why we receive so many attacks.”
«They have not stopped us nor will they be able to stop us, we will continue forward and win. Welcome, we will have two days of a lot of work and debate, with fruitful agreements for the strategic plan that we continue to strengthen”, Chávez pointed out.
Venezuela listens to the people
For his part, the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, thanked the representatives of the countries present on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro for their presence.
“We appreciate that they have taken Caracas into account to hold this meeting and it has a lot to do with the space of the towns,” he said.
“I wish some rulers understood the importance of understanding the people,” Cabello said.
He recalled the FTAA proposal to enslave the people, “and our leaders at the Mar del Plata Summit did not allow it. The peoples imposed themselves and the FTAA was sent to the most ever ».
He stressed that being together in Caracas, after spending difficult years with the pandemic, is of the utmost importance.
In addition, he pointed out that the venue where they are meeting: the IUCOM, “was the headquarters of not just any media, the IUCOM headquarters, it was the Fourth Estate. Media that blackmailed and censored presidents.
“Today this is adorned with people, with freedom,” he stressed.
For Cabello, “this meeting shows us how important it is to remain united in a single blockade. Venezuela is the home of the Sao Paulo Forum, we are here to receive you always, with love and respect, we do not have a complex”.
This forum, said the First Vice President of the PSUV, «meets to advance, while they (the right) meet to attack and destroy. Everyone knows how much campaign they have done against each country. The terrible blockade against Cuba, against China, Russia, Nicaragua, every day, but for them and the big corporations we are the bad guys.
“Our sovereignty is not sold, nor is it rented,” he added.
We are going to repeat it, Cabello emphasized, gentlemen of the right: “They have not been able to with us by hook or by crook.”
“We have the commitment to stay together compañeros and compañeras,” he said.
We continue in the fight
Mónica Valente, secretary of the Sao Paulo Forum, and present at the start of the working groups, indicated that “the map of America is almost all red and that is the struggle of our countries, and more of the people of President Nicolás Maduro than continues to build a socialist model.”
He explained that the progressive movements in America have “managed to alter the correlation of forces in many of our countries and win important elections.”
Despite gaining space, said Valente, “it has not been easy for our social and popular movements, we have not come out of the pandemic, hunger, or the growth of poverty, but as a result of this resistance struggle we have gained space, which It shows us that the fight continues, it is hard, but we are better than years ago, but let’s not fool ourselves, we have to keep fighting and face that imperial and capitalist model,” he said.
He also stated that parallel to the meeting of the Sao Paulo Forum in Caracas, a meeting of the extreme right is taking place in Mexico.
“Today the Forum of the extreme right is meeting in Mexico and it is the second time that during a meeting of the Working Group of the Sao Paulo Forum they hold a meeting,” he explained.
I add that “they know the importance of the Sao Paulo Forum, that is why they meet simultaneously and it is a sign to continue fighting and moving forward.”
Finally, Mónica Valente highlighted the importance of being together in Caracas, “there would be no other place more prominent than Venezuela, Caracas, and at the International University of Communications.”
Sao Paulo Forum in Caracas
The main objective of the Sao Paulo Forum meeting in Caracas is to develop for two days, a set of concrete actions to continue deepening the rights and demands of the peoples of the world and to confront North American imperialism.
The signing of the Cooperation Protocol between the International University of Communications and the São Paulo Forum is planned, as part of the work agenda that will be carried out on both days. The information was released at the XXVI Seminar of Political Parties and a New Society, held in Mexico.
It should be remembered that last September, Venezuela participated in the XXVI Seminar of Political Parties and a New Society, organized by the Mexican Labor Party.
