Exhibition “The Numbers of the Blockade” opens in Geneva

Inauguran en Ginebra exposición "Los Números del Bloqueo"

The exhibition “The Numbers of the Blockade” was presented in Geneva, Switzerland. In this regard, the Vice Minister of Anti-Blockade Policies of the Ministry of Popular Power for Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade, William Castillo, stated that it was the result of a joint effort between the Venezuelan Anti-Blockade Observatory and the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, with the support of the Venezuelan Embassy at the UN-Geneva.

He described how the Venezuelan people have seen a compilation of ten years of history and the chronology of the looting. “We have brought to the Human Rights Council, before the friends of the Charter, before the group of ambassadors from Latin America and Africa, fundamental information to understand the attacks on the country.”

This week, in the Swiss capital, Castillo denounced the recent coercive measures applied to Venezuela against 16 high-ranking public officials, including six Supreme Court justices (TSJ), and the theft of a plane in the Dominican Republic. He described these measures and actions as an attempt to maintain destabilizing activities against Venezuelan democracy.

He highlighted the actions of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the Venezuelan State to protect the country’s peace and reinforce institutional legitimacy, giving the electoral controversy a legal and peaceful channel through the judicial process.

The Vice Minister reiterated that this is an attack on peace and the Venezuelan State, which seeks to ignore the results of the presidential election and, on that basis, to accentuate the multiform aggression against Venezuela. He reiterated the peace and normality that exists in the country, highlighting Venezuela’s vocation to resolve debates and controversies in peace and within respect for the rule of law. “Venezuela has overcome a new coup attempt and will continue to act within the framework of international law, its Constitution, its legislation, and in defense of the sovereignty and peace of the Venezuelan people,” said Castillo.
