Exempt from employer contributions to travel agencies and tourist transport companies

The Executive reported this Thursday that between the two items there are about 400 companies involved; They may also not advance IRAE and IP.

The Executive Branch reported that companies linked to tourist transport and travel agencies will be exempt from making employer contributions for the entire 2022.

The general system of employer contribution that companies make to the Social Security Bank is 7.5% of the nominal salary that each worker has.

In addition, exempting these companies from making advances for the Income Tax on Economic Activities (IRAE) and the Wealth Tax (IP), pointed out the Minister of Tourism, Tabaré Viera.

At a press conference, the Minister of Labor, Pablo Mieres, said that between the two items it covers some 400 companies and that the measure responds to a claim from the sector, which was the “most affected” by the pandemic.

The project will be sent to Parliament in the coming days.
