The executive president of Promperú, Ricardo Limo del Castillo, highlighted the importance that the Port of Chancay in the foreign trade of Peru and other countries in the region.

“This port will be beneficial for exports, for commercial exchange. In short, it will be a great hub for Peru and other countries such as Chile, Ecuador, Brazil,” he said from the Ministry of Culture where Promperú has installed a space in within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum summit (APEC).
Likewise, he pointed out that this terminal is not only modern, but will move more than one million containers a year, which in turn will make lower costs and days possible for foreign trade.
Added to this, as specified, is the creation of employment that will be generated in the area, as well as the development of the industry. For this reason, he highlighted the importance of developing Special Economic Zones (SEZ) that allow the entry of new investments.
“The port will allow the development of the Ancón industrial park, and will allow us to have special areas not only in strategic alliance with the Chinese, but also with other countries. In addition, it will allow people to have a better connection,” he highlighted.
Likewise, he highlighted that thanks to the terminal, new services will be opened in the area that will generate commercial growth in Chancay that does not exist today.
