The Executive Branch made official this morningThe declaration of a state of emergency in 14 districts of Lima and the Constitutional Province of Callao.
This measure is made official through supreme decree 100-2024-PCM, published in an extraordinary edition of the Legal Standards bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano.
The state of emergency is declared for 60 calendar days in the districts of Ate, Ancón, Carabayllo, Comas, Independencia, Los Olivos, Lurigancho – Chosica, Puente Piedra, Rímac, San Martín de Porres, San Juan de Lurigancho, Santa Rosa and Villa El Salvador (Lima) and in Ventanilla (Callao).
During this process, the National Police of Peru maintains control of internal order, with support actions from the Armed Forces, for which the police institution determines the areas where such support is required.
The provisions of article 137 of the Political Constitution of Peru apply, regarding the restriction or suspension of the exercise of constitutional rights related to the inviolability of domicile, freedom of transit through the national territory, freedom of assembly and freedom. and personal safety.
Regarding the intervention of the National Police of Peru and the Armed Forces, it is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Legislative Decree that regulates the use of force, and in Title II of the Legislative Decree that establishes rules for the employment and use of force. force by the Armed Forces in the national territory, and its regulations.
The supreme decree has the endorsement of the president of the republic, Dina Boluarte; the head of the Ministerial Cabinet, Gustavo Adrianzén; and the Ministers of Defense, Walter Astudillo; Interior, Juan José Santiváñez; and Justice, Eduardo Arana.
“Within five (5) business days following the end of the State of Emergency declared by article 1 of this Supreme Decree, the National Police of Peru must present to the Head of the Ministry of the Interior, a detailed report of the actions carried out during the declaration of the exception regime and the results obtained”, indicates the norm.

Minister announces two more districts
This Friday, the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñezannounced that the districts of Rímac and Santa Rosaboth from Metropolitan Lima, will also be declared in a state of emergency. According to Santiváñez, these measures follow reports prepared by the National Police.
However, the declaration of the state of emergency has not yet been published in the official newspaper El Peruano.
