The Executive Directorate of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) approved the new statutes of that political organization to adapt them to the law on political parties.
At the meeting of the political body, which was attended by President Luis Abinader, all the organizational and electoral levels of the party adapted to the electoral organizational structure of the Dominican Republic.
During the meeting, headed by the president of the PRM, José Ignacio Paliza and the general secretary, Carolina Mejía, the name of the National Secretariat of Technology was changed to the National Secretariat of Innovation and the principle of gender equity was established for all organizations .
A press release from the Modern Revolutionary Party indicates that as of the next convention, the inclusion of youth and women will be established by 40/60 in all organizations.
Likewise, the Secretariat for the Diaspora was created, among other innovations included in the statutes, in order to establish a modern party.
In previous meetings, the Executive Directorate of the PRM agreed to postpone internal proselytizing to focus on strengthening the country, as requested by President Luis Abinader.
It was also reported the suspension of leaders who are accused of breaking provisions of the law in cases of corruption.
