Executive declares La Victoria and six districts of Callao in a state of emergency

He Executive power declared a state of emergency in the district of The Victoryas well as six districts of the Callao. The measure will be in effect for 60 calendar days starting on Saturday, December 7.

The leader of Alianza Para el Progreso indicated that his party will not support any attempt at interpellation, censure or vacancy.

The districts of the constitutional province included in the law are: Callao Cercado, Bellavista, Carmen de La Legua-Reynoso, La Perla, La Punta and Mi Perú.

With this rule, established in Supreme Decree No. 139-2024-PCM, there are 14 jurisdictions in Lima and Callao under a state of emergency due to the overflow of crime since September.

The document has been endorsed by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte; the president of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzén; the Minister of Defense, Walter Astudillo; the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, and the Minister of Justice, Eduardo Arana.

As recalled, this week, Santiváñez announced that an emergency would be declared in La Victoria, with greater emphasis on the commercial emporium of Gamarra, with the aim of guaranteeing security in commercial activity for the end of the year.
