This Wednesday, the Cabinet Council approved the resolution that authorizes the delivery of an economic benefit of $ 3 million to carriers until next December, to avoid an increase in the passage of Panamanians.

The Presidency of the Republic, through a statement, reported that this resolution adopts measures to alleviate the impact on users of public, collective and selective transport, due to the rise in the price of fuel that is used by the country’s carriers.

“At this time, users could not cope with a rise in the cost of the ticket, so the measure was adopted to temporarily subsidize fuel,” the letter highlights.

A weeks ago, the transport sector had threatened to call a national strike due to the constant increase in fuel prices, but they gave up after the government agreed to a meeting.
