The Cabinet Council approved Thursday afternoon the Draft Cabinet Resolution 52-22 that approves additional appropriations to the General State Budget for fiscal year 2022 in favor of the National Immigration Service and the Ministry of Security (Minseg), for a amount of $10.8 million.

According to the Government, this is done with the purpose of reinforcing the migratory points to control irregular migration by incorporating new technology at the control points, due to the accelerated increase in migrants, especially in the Darien shelters.

The Project that approves an additional credit to the Budget with allocation in favor of the Ministry of Public Security up to the amount of B/.6,543,764.62 was also approved.

These resources will be used to strengthen the fight against drug trafficking, as well as border surveillance and technology for video surveillance in urban areas.
