Five ministries out of a total of 35 take 70.79% of the nation’s annual budget for the fiscal year 2025, according to what was learned SuchWhich exclusively. The Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, presented this Tuesday, December 3, the draft budget and debt laws for next year before the National Assembly (AN).
Rodríguez indicated that the budget amounts to 906 thousand 459 million 117 thousand 450 bolivars, equivalent in dollars to 22 thousand 606 million 477 thousand 939, which represents an increase of 21% in bolivars and 10% in dollars compared to what was approved for 2024.
The five institutions that take the largest share are: Ministry of Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade with Bs 399,226 million (44%), Ministry of Education with Bs 92,749 million (10.22%); Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace Bs Bs 87,843 million (9.68%), Ministry of Health Bs 32,078 million (3.53%) and the Ministry of Electric Energy Bs 30,056 million (3.30%).
Of a total budget of 906,459 million bolivars, these five ministries add up to Bs 641,700 million, which represents 70.79%, according to documents obtained by SuchWhich.
On October 15, the Minister of Planning, Ricardo Menéndez, presented before the Protocol Chamber of the Federal Legislative Palace the draft laws for the annual budget of the Nation, the special debt law and the annual operating plan for the financial year 2025. At that time, as is customary, the authorities did not show data regarding the requested amount. In fact, the income and expenses report has not been published in detail since 2015.
