Exchange rate in Peru: Dollar reaches S/3.762 during the day

The exchange rate remains volatile. During today’s session, the dollar quoted at S/3,762registering a slight drop compared to the previous price of S/3,797, according to the BCR.

This fluctuation in the dollar’s price is due to its role as a safe haven asset for investors seeking protection from global economic uncertainty. Fears of a possible recession in the United States have prompted many to adjust their portfolios, increasing their positions in assets considered safer, such as the dollar and gold.

On average, the main banks offer the dollar at S/3.71 for purchase and S/3.86 for sale.

In the main exchange houses and Fintech, on average, the dollar is quoted at S/.3.78 for purchase and S/.3.80 for sale.

So far this year, the greenback has yielded 2.9%, according to the BCR.
