The former provincial mayor of Tarma, Luis Antonio Palomino Cerrón, died on Tuesday at age 57 while traveling to Lima, after having successfully supported his law in law in the city of Huancayo. The unfortunate event occurred in the Sinks district, Jauja province, where it suffered an apparent respiratory failure during the journey.

Despite having been transferred to the Domingo Olavegoya hospital, doctors could only certify their death at the time of their arrival. Palomino Cerrón’s death was far from his loved ones, since his wife and daughter currently reside in Italy.

Luis Palomino was mayor of the province of Tarma during the 2015–2018 period. His passage through politics was marked by an active participation in local projects, but he is also remembered for his link with the sport: he was president of the Sport Dos de Mayo Club, a traditional rival of the ADT and protagonist of an outstanding campaign in the Peru Cup of 2002, where they were close to reaching the grand final.
