Evópoli defines being "collaborative opposition" with the future government, but defending that "red lines" are not crossed

On the ninth anniversary of Evopoli, the community addressed the balance of recent months, but also the community’s projections for the next government and the relationship they will have with it.

The president of the community, Andrés Molina, explained that they want to be “a collaborative opposition and I hope not to call it the opposition. To be collaborators with the future government, being very clear about the red lines in which we are going to be there, defending very firmly and clear”.

“But at the same time, our heart is in the reforms, those reforms that are so necessary in the country that we are going to accompany the next government in that, and it seems to us that Evopoli does have to show deference there,” added Molina.

Regarding the meeting they have this Wednesday with the President-elect, Gabriel Boric, he announced that “there are 4 or 5 issues that seem very relevant to us”, among which he named Araucanía, pensions and tax reform.

Regarding Araucanía, he stressed that “a signal” must be given, emphasizing that pardons cannot be allowed. He added that they are all willing to dialogue, “but we cannot dialogue with people who have a weapon on the table.”

Regarding their balance of participation in the current government, the party’s helmsman acknowledged that “it has been sweet and sour” and that they have probably been “the most loyal party to the government.” And in that line, he said he hopes that if his community reaches the Executive, they expect that same loyalty with them.

Molina addressed the internal situation of Chile Vamos, where he stated that “each one of us and the parties must have the degrees of freedom within Chile Vamos, and that requires a necessary regulation of our coalition.”
