Through a statement, the Federation of Private Business Entities of Cochabamba (FEPC) declares itself in a state of emergency, due to the blockades that are registered in this department.
“After 10 days of blockade on the roads that connect Cochabamba with the interior and exterior of the country, The Federation of Private Business Entities of Cochabamba (FEPC) declares a state of emergency of all the sectors that make up this Federation, due to the irreversible damage caused by the interruption of free transit in the department, causing an economic impact on the productive and service apparatus of the region that amounts to 832.6 million,” reads the beginning of the release.
Likewise, they condemn the lack of political will of the authorities called by law to free the roads in Cochabamba, such as “the intransigence of those who attack freedom of movement.”
For businessmen, “Cochabamba has been taken hostage by the blockades, registering today (10/23/2024) 61 days of blockade so far in 2024, causing an impact of 4,286.1 million bolivianos.
