In an effort to modernize and simplify administrative procedures, the Government National has regulated the new blue card digital for cars. This measure, announced months ago, has been implemented through the Mi Argentina application, allowing vehicle owners to enable third parties to drive their cars more agilely and efficiently.

The resolution of the Ministry of Justice, published in the Official Gazette, establishes a new procedure to enable third parties to drive vehicles through the My Argentina application, that is, the new blue card. From now on, the license goes from being physical to digital, eliminating the need to issue physical documents and facilitating the management of driving licenses.

The blue card Traditionally, it allowed car and motorcycle owners to authorize other drivers to drive their vehicles, but its physical format presented several limitations, such as the need to renew it periodically and the difficulty of revoking the permit quickly.

With the new blue card digitally, these inconveniences are resolved, since permits can be granted and revoked online, without the need for additional procedures. To enable a third party, the vehicle owner must access the Mi Argentina application, select the domain of the vehicle registered in their name and choose the “Enable to drive” option from the current ID.

Then, you must complete the third party’s data, such as name, surname and CUIT, CUIL or CDI. The same process is followed to revoke authorization from a third party. One of the main advantages of the digital blue card is its indefinite validity, which means that it does not expire unless the owner decides to revoke the permit.

This facilitates temporary authorizations and allows owners to have greater control over who can drive their vehicle. In addition, the digital blue card allows the vehicle owner to decide when to revoke the permission of the additional driver, an innovation that facilitates temporary authorizations.
