Complaints about the state of some roads or the means used by many students in rural areas of Colombia to get around and get to their schools abound.
Reports arrive in abundance, but despite this, there are few problems that end up receiving a solution from the authorities.
One of these cases occurs in the villages of La Mesa and La Esmeralda, in the municipality of Nátaga, department of Huila.
There, a citizen managed to portray through Noticias Caracol the complex and dangerous journey that students have to make to get to the educational center.
They go on the roof and grill a guala
The citizen stated through a video how the children traveled on the roof and on the back of the grill of a guala.
They denounce that they are crowded and are in serious danger, taking into account that at any moment one of them could fall from the moving vehicle.
Or the driver of it loses control, has an accident and a tragedy occurs. “That’s not a highway, it’s a trail,” they add.

For his part, Héctor Ángel, the local president, assured that “we cannot afford to take that risk, and more so with the children. We have been very attentive and we are going to act so that this situation is corrected”.
