The candidate of the Democracy and Inclusion Movement (MDI), Nicmer Evans, summoned the National Primary Commission to become a factor in correcting inequality in the opposition in terms of access to resources for the electoral campaign. He said that they should organize nationwide debates and tours to show the strength of unity.
At a press conference, he asserted that this electoral body is being established more than 11 months late. He emphasized that it must be reassessed, with the autonomy that the newly appointed committee supposes, whether it will be a single election or there will be several positions to be elected in order to legitimize the opposition political leadership.

Nicmer Evans highlighted the need to speed up the process of designating a date for the election of the candidate for the opposition to the presidential elections. He specified that – in the face of threats from the ruling party and eventual negotiations from the opposition – they cannot catch them off guard.
He urged that the commission begin the registration of parties and candidates that aspire to be counted in the primaries. He mentioned the coming December 15 as the propitious date to complete this process.
On the other hand, he recalled that the elections must be held in 2024. “This must be agreed in Mexico or in Washington, where negotiations are really taking place,” he added.
