Candidate Evandro Leitão (PT) won the race for mayor of Fortaleza (CE), with 50.37% of the valid votes. He contested the second round with André Fernandes (PL) who so far had 49.63% of the valid votes. So far, 99.60% of the ballots have been counted.
Evandro Leitão, from PT, is 57 years old and is in his third consecutive term as state deputy. A career public servant, he is a deputy auditor at the Ceará State Finance Department. He has a degree in economic sciences from the University of Fortaleza (Unifor) and in law from Faculdade Integrada do Ceará (FIC).
