For the first time in the history of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF), periodic evaluations will be carried out on agreement secretaries, notifiers and actuaries, as part of the process of improving productivity and reducing the backlog of files, indicated sources from the Judicial Administration Body.

The measure will be tied to the evaluation and supervision processes carried out by the Judicial Disciplinary Court (TDJ) regarding the performance of judges and magistrates. The examination visits will be carried out in the first semester of this year for judges who were elected in June 2025, and in the second semester they will correspond to those who have had a judicial career.

The sources consulted indicated that part of the evaluation program for secretaries, notifiers and actuaries was already made known by the president of the Judicial Administration Body (OAJ), Néstor Vargas Solano, during work meetings with the heads of the 17 courts on administrative matters of the first circuit.

The OAJ reported: “the main objective of this work plan is to reduce the backlog in all jurisdictional bodies as soon as possible; to this end, it noted, the needs that courts and tribunals have in terms of technology, material and human resources will be met, in order to fulfill this goal and their functions in a timely manner.”

According to the information provided by members of the OAJ, it has been detected that there are courts that have a productivity of 40 percent, and the collaborators of the justice providers are resolving one file a week, and this can be increased if the obligations that set the times for the resolution of cases are met.

On Thursday, the OAJ stated that during its meetings with the heads of the administrative courts, the president of said body highlighted: “the performance of judges, who have redoubled their efforts to improve their productivity since last September 1.”

Vargas Solano explained to the judges: “this measure will also contribute to the judges having an objective personal evaluation, that of their work teams and better service to users, under policies of austerity, efficiency, honesty and transparency.”
